The Rotary Club of Temecula is turning 18 holes of golf into a Bavarian bash on Friday, Oct. 9, with bratwurst, pretzels and beer waiting at every stop.

The club's 7th Annual Golf-toberfest begins with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. at Temecula Creek Golf Club, 44501 Rainbow Canyon Rd. Local business owners and fellow Rotarians will serve Oktoberfest fare at each hole throughout the day, according to the club's event page. Proceeds fund the club's local programs, including youth leadership development and holiday outreach for Temecula Valley families in need.

Individual golfer spots cost $225. A foursome runs $900. Registration closes Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Every sponsorship tier has sold out. The German-themed packages ranged from the $400 "Das Hole Sponsor" to the $7,500 "Der Champion Sponsor," which included eight golfers. Pechanga Resort Casino, Paradise Chevrolet Cadillac and Farmers Insurance are among the sponsors backing the event.

Craig Davis, who owns the local Farmers Insurance agency listed as a sponsor, is among the Rotarians organizing the tournament. Rotary records also list Davis as club president.

The fundraising feeds a year-round slate of community work. The Temecula Rotary runs Military, Senior, Youth and Bridge committees, according to Rotary District 5330. The Bridge committee focuses on homeless outreach. The club also organizes holiday food-box drives, toy drives and community dinners.

Patch first reported the tournament details, noting the Oktoberfest theme will transform the course into a full celebration.

Golfers can register through the club's event page before the Wednesday deadline.
