A grassroots nonprofit with five Temecula-area partners has provided more than 26,000 pairs of new shoes to foster youth and children facing homelessness since 2014, and two local events in October offer residents a chance to help.
His Little Feet, a 501(c)(3) founded by Hali Wolf, works with Michelle's Place, Mission Hope, Oak Grove, Rose Again Foundation and Temecula Valley School District to distribute brand-new shoes, socks and handwritten notes of encouragement to children ages 1 to 18 in temporary shelters and the child services system, according to the organization's website.
The nonprofit's second annual Clubs Fore Kicks charity golf tournament takes place Friday, Oct. 16, at Temecula Creek Inn, 44501 Rainbow Canyon Rd. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Registration costs $205 per individual or $750 per foursome. Golfers who bring a pair of brand-new shoes receive a drink ticket.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the City of Temecula's Temecula Together program is hosting a His Little Feet volunteer workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in south Temecula off Temecula Parkway. Up to seven volunteers ages 13 and older can help organize items, take inventory, fill shoe boxes with socks and write notes of encouragement.
Wolf runs the nonprofit from her home. She manages donor oversight, volunteer coordination, event planning and daily operations, drawing on more than 600 annual volunteers and student-led high school "Sole Clubs," according to a Monday, Sept. 28 episode of Growing on the Vine, a podcast on Temecula-area radio station 102.5 The Vine. Host Chris Ryan interviewed Wolf about the organization's growth.
The origin story traces to a school counselor's tip. "I was told by a counselor at Addams that kids were taping their shoes to keep the rain water out during winter 2014," Wolf told the Press Telegram in a March 2018 interview. She said she couldn't sleep that night. Wolf, a single mother at the time, told the Press Telegram she could have sold four pairs of her children's outgrown shoes but chose to give them away. Those four pairs launched the nonprofit.
Wolf told the podcast the organization has distributed shoes to more than 28,000 children across Orange County, Long Beach and Southwest Riverside County. The group's website lists the count at over 26,000.
Wolf was recognized in 2023 by Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson as a Rising Star and Woman of Achievement. The nonprofit also held its 12th annual Back to School Fair earlier in 2026, distributing backpacks, school supplies and shoes to children in Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles counties, according to the organization's LinkedIn page.
