Temecula Valley High senior Noah Murillo holds three Division III college football offers as the Golden Bears sit unbeaten at 6-0.
The Temecula Valley Football team account announced on X on Saturday, Oct. 3, that Murillo has offers from the University of La Verne, the University of Puget Sound and Grove City College. All three are NCAA Division III programs.
La Verne competes in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). Grove City, a Pennsylvania program, reached the 2024 NCAA Division III playoffs and won back-to-back Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championships in 2023 and 2024.
Murillo, who wears No. 9, plays outside linebacker, safety and wide receiver for head coach Joel Nichols. He is listed at 5-foot-11 and 178 pounds on MaxPreps. The Class of 2027 senior is a four-year varsity player for the Golden Bears.
His defensive numbers through five games back up the college interest. Murillo has recorded 28 total tackles, 19 of them solo, along with one sack and one pass broken up. That works out to 5.6 tackles per game, a clip that ranks him among the top performers in the Big West-South league.
Murillo, nicknamed "Cheetah," posted his own scouting pitch on X the same day. "Like a cheetah, I stay locked on the QB … Then I explode, close the gap, and finish with the sack," Murillo wrote.
The offers arrive as Temecula Valley sits at 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Big West-South play. The Golden Bears beat Santiago 23-6 on Thursday, Oct. 1, according to MaxPreps.
Temecula Valley travels to King on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. for its next league game. The city rivalry matchup against Great Oak follows on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at home. Corona visits on Friday, Oct. 23, and the Golden Bears close October at Roosevelt on Thursday, Oct. 29.
