Rancho Christian senior Jeremiah Profit committed to Northwestern University on Tuesday, Sept. 22, becoming the highest-ranked recruit in Wildcats men's basketball history.

Profit, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound small forward, is ranked No. 61 overall and No. 15 at his position in the Class of 2027 by 247Sports. He is also a top-65 recruit by Rivals and a top-80 recruit by ESPN, according to Inside NU.

The commitment gives Northwestern head coach Chris Collins a significant recruiting win. Profit chose the Wildcats over Stanford, Saint Mary's, Arizona State, Creighton and Boston College after a visit to Evanston, the Daily Northwestern reported.

"I really believe in what coach Collins and the coaching staff are building, and I felt like I could come in and make an impact," Profit told Rivals in an interview published Sept. 22.

Profit is Northwestern's first commitment in the Class of 2027. His pledge marks the third straight year the program has landed its highest-ranked all-time recruit, following forward Tre Singleton (No. 93, Class of 2025) and guard Jayden Hodge (No. 64, Class of 2026).

Before arriving at Rancho Christian, Profit starred at Temecula Valley High School. He earned Southwestern League MVP honors for the 2024-25 season and was named to the CalHiSports All-State sophomore first team, according to TVHS Basketball on X. He transferred to Rancho Christian ahead of the 2025-26 season, per a CalHiSports transfer rundown. His brother Josiah Profit also made the move.

Rancho Christian finished 22-11 overall and 10-0 in league play during the 2025-26 season under head coach Jalen Lake, according to MaxPreps.

During summer 2026, Profit averaged 15.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game for Gamepoint on the adidas 3SSB AAU circuit, per the Daily Northwestern.

Rancho Christian's 2026-27 boys basketball schedule had not been published as of Sept. 25.
