Arleigh Crisman, 75, of Temecula died Wednesday, Sept. 23, after his motorcycle collided with a FedEx delivery truck east of the city.
The crash happened at 1:36 p.m. at the intersection of Glen Oaks and Bella Vista roads, according to the California Highway Patrol. The impact ejected Crisman from his motorcycle into a roadside ditch, Patch reported.
Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived within minutes and found Crisman in grave condition. Paramedics requested a helicopter airlift and attempted lifesaving measures, but Crisman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau confirmed Crisman's identity and listed his time of death as 1:52 p.m. The coroner's report, filed as case 2026-07054, is marked final. Next of kin have been notified.
The FedEx driver was not injured. He was questioned at the scene but not arrested, according to the CHP.
CHP officers partially closed the intersection to investigate. The closures were lifted a couple of hours later.
The cause of the collision has not been determined. The CHP has not released information about contributing factors such as speed or right-of-way, and the investigation remains ongoing.
