Tecovas, the Austin-based cowboy boot and Western wear retailer, will open its doors Thursday, Oct. 29, at 28601 Old Town Front St. in Old Town Temecula.
The store fills the space left by Old Town Antique Faire, which closed after 35 years in business. The storefront has been fully redesigned, according to Patch, which first reported the opening details.
A three-day grand opening celebration runs Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8. The party includes live music from Rheanna Downey, complimentary refreshments, custom hat tattooing and gift bags for the first 50 shoppers each day. Hours for the grand opening events are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Oct. 29 soft opening comes several months after the retailer's originally expected summer 2026 arrival. Patch had reported in December 2025 that Tecovas was slated for the Old Town Front Street location, citing a city spokesperson.
What Tecovas offers
Tecovas, founded in 2015, sells handcrafted cowboy boots, Western apparel, leather bags and accessories. The company operates six locations in California, according to its store locator page. CEO David Lafitte leads the company.
A store spokesperson told Patch the Temecula location is built around what the company calls "radical hospitality." Shoppers can try on boots, customize leather goods and sip complimentary beverages, including sparkling water and local beer.
Ongoing in-store services include complimentary boot cleaning, shining and stretching, plus leather branding and debossing. A custom Hat Bar lets customers have cowboy hats shaped, branded and personalized with accessories. Some hat add-ons carry an additional fee.
The space's history
Old Town Antique Faire had operated at the address for 35 years before closing Aug. 31, 2025. The mall housed roughly 20 dealers. Its landlord, Los Angeles-based Zip Third Investments LLC, opted to pursue a "different direction" rather than renew the lease, according to Patch's July 2025 reporting.
Regular store hours for Tecovas are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the Tecovas Old Town Temecula store page.
