A new restaurant called Le Bistro Modern is seeking a full liquor license at 41955 4th Street, Suite 101, in Old Town Temecula.
Applicant Yoann Bounat filed for a conditional use permit (CUP) to obtain a California Alcoholic Beverage Control Type 47 license, classified as "On Sale General - Eating Place," for the restaurant. The Temecula Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the application, Case No. PA25-0473, on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers at 41000 Main St., according to a city public hearing notice.
Bounat is also behind Le Coffee Shop, an existing French café in Old Town Temecula. He runs that business with Charlotte Bounat, and the two are originally from Provence, France, according to the café's Facebook page. Le Bistro Modern would mark a second Old Town venture for the Bounat family, this time with a full liquor license.
The restaurant site sits along 4th Street between Main Street and Old Town Front Street, near Interstate 15.
City staff determined the project is exempt from environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act. Case planner Marcella Mills is handling the application for the Temecula Community Development Department.
Residents who want to weigh in can attend the hearing or submit written comments to the City Clerk before or at the meeting. The full agenda packet will be available at the Temecula Civic Center reception area, 41000 Main St., after 4 p.m. the Friday before the hearing and on the city's website at TemeculaCA.gov. Mills can be reached at (951) 240-4243, and the Community Development Department's general line is (951) 694-6400.
