Old Town Temecula plans first Dolly Day fundraiser for Sept. 25

Old Town Temecula will host a Dolly Parton-themed street event on Friday, Sept. 25, with all ticket proceeds going to Michelle's Place Cancer Resource Center.

The Old Town Temecula Association is organizing the inaugural Dolly Day, billed as a "celebration of kindness" inspired by the country music icon. The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. along Old Town's streets, according to the association's announcement.

Wristband holders ages 21 and older will receive a welcome bag, drinks and bites as they walk a "crawl" route through Old Town shops. The event also includes special seating at a Pulp Vixen concert at Baily's Old Town at 8 p.m. Pulp Vixen, a variety and Top 40 act, played the City of Temecula's 2026 Summer Concert Series in June.

Tickets range from $85 to $125. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit Michelle's Place, which provides no-cost counseling, support groups, art programs, educational classes, wig fittings and other services to families dealing with cancer.

"It's a chance for our community to come together, show a little kindness, support our local shops, and raise funds for a cause that touches so many families right here in Temecula," Julie Ngo, president of the Old Town Temecula Association, said in the announcement.

No ticket is needed to dress up, visit Old Town or support its small businesses during the event. Families and children are welcome to come in costume and can make a donation to Michelle's Place separately.

Michelle's Place was founded in memory of Michelle Watson, a 26-year-old Temecula resident who died of breast cancer, according to a Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce profile. As of that 2023 profile, the center reported providing more than 10,000 free services a year to individuals and families affected by all types of cancer. Services include one-on-one support, wellness classes and prosthesis fittings.
