A free tree lighting ceremony, fireworks and a visit from Santa come to Promenade Temecula on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The annual Santa's Arrival and Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony begins with pre-show entertainment at 5 p.m. on Plaza Street outside Regal Cinemas at the shopping center, according to the Promenade Temecula event listing. The main event starts at 6 p.m. No tickets or registration are required.
The pre-show lineup features performances by SoCal Rising Stars, Murrieta Dance Project, Supreme Dance Company and Guitar Lessons by Chris. Murrieta Dance Project is a dance studio based in neighboring Murrieta that serves the Temecula Valley.
At 6 p.m., the program shifts to an interactive improv radio show reimagining the classic film "It's a Wonderful Life." Two local theater groups are behind the production: Shakespeare in the Vines, a Temecula-based classical theater nonprofit and member of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Pseudo Random Noise, an improvisational troupe that performs regularly at The Merc at Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Shakespeare in the Vines is listed as a sister troupe of Pseudo Random Noise.
The show uses a 1940s radio studio format and invites audience participation. Pseudo Random Noise describes its "Radio Play!" series as "far too interactive," encouraging the crowd to become part of the KPRN studio audience.
The evening wraps with Santa's grand arrival, the holiday tree lighting and a fireworks finale. The event is free and open to the public.
Promenade Temecula is located at 40820 Winchester Road.
