The Temecula Valley Girls Softball Association opened its 2026 fall recreational season Saturday, Sept. 12, with games across three age divisions at Temecula Elementary School (TES) Fields.

The 12U division saw the day's biggest action.

UNC edged Hawaii 7-6 at TES Field 2, powered by pitcher Sofia, who recorded 14 of UNC's pitching outs. Hawaii's Olivia handled 10 outs and McKenzie added three in the loss.

Duke rolled past Notre Dame 14-8 at TES Field 1, using five pitchers to get the job done. ZZ led the staff with seven outs, while Maryanne recorded two, Shayla two, Brynn three and Aynsley three.

SDSU posted the day's most lopsided result, beating Texas Tech 15-5 at TES Field 2. Alayna J. recorded nine outs on the mound and Jaleesa S. added eight, with Jara S. picking up one.

A fourth 12U game between Missouri and Arizona was scheduled at TES Field 1 but had no score posted as of publication.

In the lone 10U contest, Missouri topped Texas Tech to move to 1-0 under coach Obremski. Scarlett Carlson led the pitching effort with nine outs. Bella Egan recorded three, and Malia Ayala entered the circle but did not record an out. No final score was posted.

The 8U division opened with a 2-2 tie between Washington and Missouri at TES Field 2. Jordi recorded six outs and Penny three for Washington. Two additional 8U games, Notre Dame vs. SDSU and Texas Tech vs. Kansas, had no scores posted.

The season continues this week at Patricia Birdsall Sports Park. The 8U division returns first Tuesday, Sept. 15, with Notre Dame vs. Nebraska and Missouri vs. SDSU at 5:20 p.m., followed by Kansas vs. Washington and Texas Tech vs. LSU at 7 p.m. The 10U plays Wednesday, Sept. 16, with UCSD vs. Missouri and Cal Poly vs. Texas at 5:30 p.m. and UCLA vs. SDSU at 7:15 p.m. The 12U takes the field Thursday, Sept. 17, with Missouri vs. Hawaii and SDSU vs. UNC at 5:30 p.m., followed by Duke vs. Texas Tech and Notre Dame vs. Arizona at 7:20 p.m.

The fall rec schedule runs through late October, with 8U play ending Oct. 17, 12U wrapping Oct. 22 and 10U closing Oct. 24.
