Temecula Prep junior Bailey Litt leads the nation with 34 interceptions and 55 touchdowns in girls flag football. The Press Enterprise named her Inland Girls Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Litt's award-triggering performance came Sept. 29 against Indio, when she caught eight passes for 99 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-0 Patriots victory.

According to MaxPreps, Litt has caught 94 passes for 1,540 yards and 27 receiving touchdowns. She has also returned 14 interceptions for scores, thrown six touchdown passes, rushed for four touchdowns and returned four punts for scores.

Those 55 total touchdowns have more than doubled since a Sept. 13 profile on the school's athletics site listed her at 24 touchdowns and 21 interceptions through 12 games.

The numbers keep climbing.

The Press Enterprise called Litt "one of the top two-way flag football standouts in the CIF Southern Section this season."

Litt, a four-sport athlete who also plays basketball, soccer and track and field, grew up competing on boys' flag football teams before joining Temecula Prep's all-girls squad as a freshman. She overcame a serious ankle injury that freshman year that cost her an entire track season.

"It definitely made me appreciate sports more and not take being healthy and able to compete for granted," Litt said in the September school profile.

Temecula Preparatory, a charter school in Winchester that admits students by lottery, enters the stretch run as the two-time defending South Valley League champion. The Patriots sit at 12-7-1 overall and 5-1 in league play, good for second place, riding a three-game winning streak.

Athletic director Jason Litt said in an Aug. 14 game recap on the school site that he was proud of the team's progress as they pursue a "Three-Peat" as South Valley League champions.

Litt has also been nominated for the Sports Illustrated SoCal Girls Athlete of the Week, with voting open through Sunday, Oct. 11.

The Patriots play at Murrieta Valley on Saturday, Oct. 10, host Desert Christian Academy in a league game Monday, Oct. 12, and travel to Roosevelt on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
